Who I Am

Lord please open my eyes
and help me to see.
Get rid of the weakness
That dwells within me.
The spirit is willing
but the flesh is so weak.
Open the curtain
and give me a peek.
Life is a stage.
So let's get on with the show.
Let me tell you a story
Of someone I know.
Some stories are fiction
but this one is real.
It starts with all the love
that a Father can feel.
The people were dying.
They were living in sin.
Couldn't return to the Father
in the state they were in.
A sacrafice was needed
to show them how it was done.
God so loved the world.
He sent us His only Son.
His name was Jesus
and He was the Lamb.
The sacrafice from God
that tells me just who I am.
I'm a believer in Jesus.
I know that he died for me.
Slaughtered and beaten
on the cross at Calvary.
He lived a life without sin.
He was perfect and pure.
He taught those around Him
how to live and endure.
They carried His message.
They saw it all with their eyes.
God listened to his people.
He heard the moans and the cries.
When Jesus died on the cross
He did it all out of love
and the heavenly Father
watched it all from above.
When Jesus took His last breath
and said My Father it's done.
God opened the heavens
and welcomed back His only Son.
The Lord showed us His mercy
and He gave us all grace.
He gave undeserved favor
to the whole human race.
I want to carry His message
to everyone that has ears.
Death without hope
will be the worst of your fears.
Believe in Lord Jesus.
In His sacrifice.
Believe in His love
and your soul survives.
