Who Got the Pink Pearl Earrings
After grandma’s death, no one could find grandma's best earrings.
Pink pearled delights that grandma liked best, they were quite rare.
Gram’s best friend Jenny helped us look; but they were nowhere found.
We accused each other of stealing, three granddaughters, playing around.
The other two had not visited Grandma after she got sick.
Even at Christmas, making up a variety of excuses, many slick.
On my birthday I received a package with a return address from Gram.
She had sent me her pink pearl earrings; this felt like a grand slam.
I asked Jenny about it and she said, sorry, honey, I am sworn to secrecy.
Don’t wear them around the other two, just between Gram, you and me.
