Who Do You Think I Am - I Am Me

Who do you think I am?
Do you think you know me?

Though you may not decipher it,
 my life lies here.
 breathing, alive, living, loving, loved.

Nothing hidden or secret herein lies
 the sadness, loneliness;
 the confusion, anxiety,
 the madness, the love
All held within each word if you but read them
with thought and desire to understand and know me.

If you truly know me
you will recognize me, see my face
my dreams and hopes, fears and desires
once hidden safely from the world.

But here I am
in love, despair, desire and acceptance
 of who I have become.

The true reality known at last
 I am who I am -
just me.

Do you recognize me now?

My fave verse: "But here I am in love, despair, desire and acceptance of who I have become." Always a bit of a roller-coaster for me, but getting there;-). Hello authentic self! ~ john (I'm not being facetious)
