Who Did You Meet Today
She remembers my name
I saw her in the elevator today
As we were walking out the door
She said goodbye and said my name
It shocked me
Because I didn't think she knows me
We used to work downtown in the same building, she said
We are here in this building though still with the same organization
I saw her a few times in this new building
But just didn't take the time to know who she is
She seems like a sweet girl with a good heart
Why didn't I try to get to know her better?
We could have been good friends
At least know her name and say hello
We go through life like that
So full of strangers
Never know who is who
We never bother to find out who someone is
- just passing by - go about our business
But someone did bother to find out who we are
Enough to remember it after all these years
I was so shocked
Let alone the gratitude of knowing that
Yes, I am important to someone
Are you important to someone?
Do you want that person to remember you?
Then yes, remember them
They will return the favor
Who did you meet today?
