Who Am I What Am I

Who am I what am I, I had to hide my shame for so long, Behind a mask I continue to adorn. Was my life always a lie, that I had to live on the sly? With a perennial facade For me to hide behind? It’s been a cruel macabre phantasm, Trying to convince myself I did not care, What others thought about the face paint I wore so no one could go there. Now that time has gone long, On this countenance that I’ve worn, This persona that I’ve got Makes it impossible for me to know, If it’s really me or not.
