Who Am I To You?

Who am I to you?
In the darkest hour
Painted in your mind
Am I freeing or do you feel left behind?

Images of someone you thought I’d be
Am I an image, or do you see me?

I’m not the one
That you painted when we first met
Can’t be stringed along
Yes it’s true we have our differences,
But can you accept all that encompasses?

I am an image
Painted brightly in your mind
But an image, flying high up in the sky.
As I come to life, I slowly fade away from your eyes.
