whither beats a poet's heart
if not to beat in time
whither hark a poet's ears
if not to hear a sign
whither rings a poet's words
if not in tones sublime
whither gaze a poet's eyes
if not to the divine
whither moves a poet's pen
if not to write in rhyme
whither lives a poet's soul
if not in yours and mine
