Whiteness

Whiteness

Oh I was raised to
believe that whiteness, goodness
oh I was lied to...
the fear of blackness, evil
act of insecurity.

Toil

Destiny whiteout
on the long winding highway...
many turns in my life.

My Rose

White Rose of Yorkshire
this my national emblem...
we grow together.

I see you thought deeply about the whiteness contest. And how cool that I saw the other two poems before you combined them all here as a set!! Yes, the things we learned that were lies! It's incredible, Harry!!! You make me "feel" the ease with which fear can take hold even after all we have been taught.

love the contrast comparison...dark always seemed evil and white innocent...but sometimes that isn't the case! Great poem!

I am blinded by the whiteness in contrast with the darkness. Well done! I like this style, I am unfamiliar with it.

If this is for Craig's contest, it reads like a winner..The Cherokee Rose is our state flower..I am going to look up White Rose of Yorkshire..You have made me wonder if it is a running rose or a bush rose, is it single or semi-double or double rose? Thanks for stopping by..The cotton fields that have been sprayed and all the leaves gone and all the cotton hanging out is a beautiful sight from a distance..Sara
