Notes About The Poem

White Sheet of Illusion

He sung with tender fingers
 the music from his heart
to one white sheet of illusion,
that woke up fay and goblin,
    imp and gnome.
     Bounteous elflike star drops
fell down his eyes and came to life
   in deceptive chromaticity,
  that walked for him..
A masquerade to mask his pain
His pen spoke with frail intensity
 of Pegasus on golden wings,
to carry him, to ferry him
   from agony to Neverland—
    where nothing dwells too long
     and all is everlasting youth,
      without the pain of existence.

Deep write, Darren. Keep dipping that gifted pen in the inky mystic rivers of transcendence. Make us think, make us feel when we think. Heavy innervisions this poem be. Thought provoking density. Powerful poetry. Love and smiles always.

Can I borrow a sheet? Lovely transference of feeling through the metaphor

If only there were a world outside of our dreams, beyond our imaginings, to which we might retreat. Your poem is heart rending. The intensity is palpable.
