White Knight
White Knight
Strong and silent he stands,
Watching, Waiting, Listening.
Like the proverbial white knight,
He is there to rescue her
As she mentally collapses before him.
Heart-wrenching sobs escape her mouth,
Rivers of tears stream down her face,
Trembles attack her body.
Life is overtaking her
With no end in sight,
The weight of it all
Is crushing her inside.
He gathers her close to him,
Enveloping her in his warmth,
Quiet words of reassurance
Flow through from his soul to hers.
The battles deep within her
Is tearing his heart apart,
Knowing that all he can do
Is catch her when she falls.
