white

the languid petals of addiction fall in a silent way drugs to wipe clean the scribbled slate of the mind adrift and alone on the ocean of the bathroom floor down on my luck down on my knees scissored by shadow and scythed by sorrow ice-knives stab my stinging skin the stark-sudden cold relief of white as snow sugar-sifts the street the outer world recedes pain splinters lodge deep I know the scream of silent weeks 1. In a Silent Way 2. Confessions of a Baby Snatcher 3. Sea Pearl 4. the night is freezing fast 5. Ramonda 6. we're sinking 7. Black and White 8. Illness Is 9. Out My Window 10. When Silence Speaks

From the old comes a new masterpiece, the past births a fresh poem! I am so sorry I missed reading these power filled lines that scream with pain and the impact of stark emotions. Congratulations on your win! Your work always leaves me breathless and inspired! What a joy to share this powerful medium of poetry! Happy Valentine's Day! Blessings!

Dear Charlotte, how can your "scissored" verses from your masterworks not produce yet another masterwork? It's impossible for this compilation not to succeed because every verse you've ever written is impactful in its imagery, metaphor and emotion. Even when you strip lines from their original poems they combine to form another potent piece of poetic art. Congratulations for your placement in a difficult contest. Warmest wishes and admiration always.. ~Susan

A lot of emotions in this one and about a difficult subject also.. I can see to create the theme you must have taken your time to pick the ten lines.. so happy it inspired you.. Was a really difficult contest to judge with so many entries.. I can feel the angst and pain in your words and I know many who will relate to the scream of silent weeks... Congratulations on your placement..

Love the cheer me up poems at this time of the year. Some will get drunk, some will shoot up, others will snort the expensive white stuff. Will they all make it to, 2025, probably not, but that's the roll of the dice we all participate in, and the men in black bow their heads to their busiest time of the year heading into January. Merry Christmas, Charlotte, tomorrow. Hope the big guy's good to you.

What sort of uber-soul can produce such vivid images in the middle of a white fog...one that is superior to the demon drug. I hope they find out before too late happens. :o//

Reminds me a bit of my poem Kensington Ave. Some only find solace and peace in delusion and unreality, whatever it takes to get there. Sad, sad. Expertly put together

A ‘cut and paste’ poem that comes together seamlessly to form a great poem in its own right. This is just a brilliant piece of work Charlotte. Cheers - Gary
