Whistle Stops
Whistle Stops
Whistle stops wait for lonesome midnight trains
Recalls starlit sentimental journey storms
Shivers in express downpours, pelting rains,
But sing a litany of train refrains,
Rhapsodies of locomotive terrains
Rumble through restless lullabies forlorn,
Solitary nights silver rails explain
As heartbreak punches tickets for hope reborn.
Whistle stops wait for lonesome midnight trains
But sing a litany of train refrains
Solitary nights silver rails explain
Recalls starlit sentimental journey storms
As heartbreak punches tickets for hope reborn
Crossings clang on tracks in memory’s morn.
