Whispers of Angels

Conversations with God, My pleas and the gifts received— Grace amid chaos, Mercy in a world that inflicts pain. Lost and found, my soul. I have yet to know a world where I do not cry, Or one where peace embraces me. A world where my efforts are enough In a constant hunger for more— A world that demands more and more of you. Can one ever be truly whole? Pieces of ourselves left behind, Some buried deep within, Memories thought forgotten but still unhealed. A desperate time calls for God, In an era where everything is within reach, Most things just a text or call away. Four clicks from booking that ticket to those Whom you cherish as dearly beloved. It’s simple, it’s easy. How can they not know you think of them, Miss them, see them, share moments even from afar— Snapshots, posts, statuses. In a world ever accelerating, Now more than ever, What was once black and white is now in full color. Youth face peak anxiety, Under pressure to do more, to act now. When do we exhale, breathe, and pause To be grateful for what we have and how far we’ve come? It’s a beautifully sad world, Where genuine smiles are rare, And authenticity is increasingly scarce. Realness has never been more elusive, With everyone mimicking supposed icons or celebrities. What happened to the misfits, Those who pioneered style, flair, and individuality? What happened to those who lived with wu wei? I’ve never wanted more than to have lived in the past. Sure, there were imperfections, as with everything. But the music, the dance halls, the park walks— When chivalry and romance flourished. Simple joys like riding bicycles together, Playing tag. What a life… What a life I would have had. I’m sure the things that break me now would have been different then. I’d love harder, smile more, and live more in the moment.
