Whispers in the Wind

Written: February 03, 2025, for contest, Sponsored by: Oliver Mckeithan ~~~~~~~~~~~~ In breeze I smell your breath that rustle gleaming twigs of my forlorn wasteland of skimps you grasp In stars I spot your eyes that guard the transient beats of oxblood veins straight in the heart for you. In blooms I smell your scent toneless taste in the wild preserved in veiled domains of mind so still. In lakes your pictures wave along the autumn fronds of silver maple trees of mine by there.

I like how your poem uses rich sensory imagery and nature metaphors to convey a connection that transcends time and presence. The subtle longing, the stillness of the memories, and the way nature embodies the essence of this person all contribute to a tone of quiet yearning. It is intertwined with nature as they remember, feeling the presence of the person in the wind, stars, flowers, and lakes—a gentle, almost spiritual connection that remains ever-present despite physical absence.

Soto! I found this amazingly sensual! Not lying to tell you i felt actually a physical rush. Lately i love physical imagery, that is, “imagism” of senses along with sight… Deep, expounding poem of a great love! Hearing cheers
