Whispers

Wishful thinking on his part
His sweet nothings in her ear
Instead of a plethora of urgings
Spoken softly to his latest…dear
Perhaps he would have succeeded
Entertaining his carnal imaginations
Relying on his physical attributes 
Saved his whispered incantations
