Whispering What's Maybe Never To Come

You stole my sleep,
but gave me dreams.
Dreams to see,
Dreams to feel,
but not to tell anyone,
what's real.

The truth we hide,
for nobody to know.
Not even for us -
we don't show.

Don't show the love,
the care,
the bond we built together
for ourselves.

The secret we both know about,
yet don't share.
Because we're too scared for what's to come next.
Maybe,
to be quiet is for the best...
