Whispering As I Step
Whispering as I Step
Out along rolling gentle Irish-lush grassy rises
walking came easily in those mid-years I
used my step to step in the passing on of my prayer for
I could have been kneeling or for that matter
even leaping for my soul was so full but I kept walking
quietly even wrapping my arms around my waist so
I could contain the physical to that particular point
I sought where the greatest energy could be found to
feel my center of being my living soul and then to
let it fly as I opened my voice to whisper again
and again “Aaaaah-llleee-llluuuu-eeeee-aaaaa” into
the wind that could hold it and carry it on and further
from my being to the being of our earth and
going on up to heaven where Our Lord does not only
hear but too feel my praises on the rippling currents
of the wind carrying my soul’s calls “Alleluia”
praises from within whispered to his whole all things
he created all we all creatures plants seas even
the rocks shout with us with me as I send
up another “Alleluiaaaaaa” then another another I am
shot through with joy the wind surrounds with grace
