Whispered Words

Dont tell me not to cry 
or say there's no reason why
you'll never know what Im feeling 
when the lights go out at night 
wet spots from tears cover the collar of your shirt 

People in my life tell me, be strong
deep down, I'm sad, cryin out with a fight
I dont expect you to understand 
for no apparent reason, I break down 

My life changed before I even had a chance 
an there are 10 thousand reasons why Im not the old me
please dont act like nothing happened 
because things will always change 

I'll probably never be the same again
not today, or tomorrow, but there's something you can do
just be there for me like you always are
this broken heart is killin me 
an I'm scared it'll never mend.

Poet Destroyer A April 6, 2015 at 6:01 PM Stevie, this is heavy and deep. It's easy for others to be concerned. But, I hate it when they say, "BE STRONG" if they only knew everyone's pain is different. It is hard to what you once were. I enjoyed this poem very much. Love LINDA
