Whisper Softly

Much like the silent flickering
of hummingbird wings, whisper softly in my ear
a promise to make my soul take flight
with the warmth of your smile, and skin...
through cold, lonely nights and frigid winters.
Darling, promise me you'd never depart me!
Like a soothing autumn zephyr that tinkle
wind chimes ever so gently; like a faint sigh...
whisper ever so softly your words of tenderness
as we lie supine to count the stars in the night sky.
And as sleep begins to ease my fatigued eyes,
let your voice sink into a silken whisper;...
my celestial lullaby! Delight me with a sound of "goodnight"
so I can peacefully drift into a lovely dream
That is all I ask of you. Let me hear it as we call it a day!
Whisper it softly to me with a kiss, my sweet.
