Whisper in the Twilight

As day transitioned into night, I felt it was time to rest and rejuvenate. I settled onto the porch to soak in the twilight, watching the sun sink lower in the sky and the birds fly home. Suddenly, I heard a whisper. It said, “I’m so sorry we couldn’t meet again.” I turned around to see who was speaking, but there was no one in sight. A chill of fear ran down my spine. I stood up and hurried inside the house. Grabbing some dessert, I went to bed. As I closed my eyes, I heard the whisper again, but this time, a face appeared, filled with smiles and teary eyes. a whisper in the ambience of the evening a lost love somewhere December 13, 2024.
