Whisper Gentle Is the Kiss

Whisper gentle is the kiss,
Feather fleeting upon my lips.
If it not for the lingering feel
I would not have thought it was real

With it’s taste of berry wine
Reminds me of another time
When you dared to risk the chance
to swiftly kiss me while we danced

Phantoms oft come visit me
Conjured from deep my memories
Leaving me bereft and chained
To a man who came and went like rain

You promised nothing you could not give
Except your love and life you live
Piracy is not meant for those that are meek
When fortune on the high sea’s you seek

Danger lurks over each horizon
From each new dawn to the set of sun
You did promise alive you would return
let it not be your ghost whose kiss made me yearn

Very romantic, Paula! I appreciate your response on my blog. Of course, what poets do is totally up to them regarding punctuation, etc. I was just speaking for editors in general in case someone tries to get published. What I hate is that my microsoft Word automatically makes a capital letter at the start of each line and I have to go thru and change to small letters in some of the lines. I know there is a way to disable that feature, but being computer illiterate, I don't know how. haha. Andrea
