Whiskers of Defeat

When disappointing who we love.
Sudden whiskers of defeat,
Cover our face in shame
But there's no one else to blame,
The mirror shows the culprit.
When you feel the need to split,
Change your mind and play the game
Nothing comes close to the rush
Of a the burning in your face,
If you run in this life's race.
