Whirlwind Is Thy Name

All these thoughts swimming around in my head
Make my brain heavy with sweat
And my pores bleed
Make me toss and turn in my blissful rest
Made unkempt by unreasonable worries

Every single marble of thought
With dark strands of frustrations
And un-restful voices
That spew burning whispers
Of unrealistic truths

They make me wonder
Where the gentle breeze has gone
Of warm smiles and sweet words
Why is it that they are the ones that knock on your door
And not the real truths
That you have life
You are beautiful
And this day is the best day

Why is it that they do not tell you
Of the strength you have
The mountains you’ve climbed
The stormy waters you have crossed
And the paths you have reached
Why is it that they want to bring you down
Make you feel small
Make you question

Why is it that they do not
Wake you up with serenity
Pour you with laughter
Caress you with joy
And bless you with comfort
Placing you in sun’s warmth…
