The whippoorwill sings softly to me From darkness of night, the bird I can’t see Singing goodnight daily, from trees to sky It has clearly made its home nearby Peacefully it calls to me and rests my heart I close my eyes to its song, until we part The restful melody concludes my day So, perfectly as I listen, I’ve nothing more to say Heidi Sands 6/20/21

This reminds me of the ties (I sat contentedly on my grandmother's porch listening to the bobwhites and whippoorwills in the evening, I sure do miss that. Good write. God Bless, JB

I do enjoy hearing them but since we got double paned windows I can't hear them as much and of course I think my hearing is not as good anymore. I enjoyed your work regarding them. They are an elusive bird. Thanks for dropping by my page. Sara

Nothing beats the sweet sound of birdsong Heidi, must Google the sound as we don't have them in the uk. Hope your Sunday is going well. Tom
