While There Is Still Today
We all walk around
thinking we have time.
Time to call tomorrow.
Time to say sorry next week.
Time to see the people we love again.
We tell ourselves
they’ll be there.
Tomorrow.
Next month.
Next year.
But life doesn’t work like that.
Life swings.
It gives with one hand
and takes with the other.
And most of the time
it takes more
than it ever gives back.
None of us know
what tomorrow is holding.
So hold the people you love
a little closer today.
Speak the words
before silence steals them.
Because the truth is
we think we have time.
But time
is the one thing
that was never promised.
