While bouquets flaunted their fullest bloom: roses and lilies I assume, I only saw gray, black, and white, consumed in disbelief. While friends and kin folks gathered around, with hugs and gentle words profound, my heart was cast into the night, dull conversations brief. While we beheld his bodily form, no longer was his presence warm. Decay had set like deadly blight, the demise of a leaf. While moments hold the weight of years, collections of ten thousand tears, I dream we'll meet, beeming with light, redeemed from life's fierce thief. 7-14-2023 9,8,8,6 aabc

oh wow, the imagery in this is so vivid, what an amazing poem.. definitely a fave for me... love so many lines in this poem and that ending is just brilliant... amazing poetry.
