Which Way Is Up

Which way is UP?

Mountains are hard to climb
Tears are hard to hide
Hard for the lost to see the light
Hard for the light to shine when you’re blind
Chains, cuffs and cages more prevalent symbolically
Caught up in our own inner battles which hold us captive with the key dangling over heads
Running, jiving, testing waters not meant to be tested
Temptations so sweet yet the trap camouflaged with hopes to capture indefinitely
Eagerly the heart of man chases the wrong things, failing to seek things which sustain life
Disobedience so easy
Yet to rid the DIS the rope which hung from the neck is not so easy to untangle
Constantly running back to things which bring harm, shame, guilt, and pain to our most inner self’s
Screaming, weeping and praying for those same things to be stripped from our lives
Not even a roller coaster can remain on, at some point it needs to be turned off
Quick sand looks lovely when you’re at a distance
When you’re in it not so much
The same hands begging in prayer
Are the same hands which we deceive ourselves with
The road is not so clearly marked
For if it was not so many would be hopelessly lost

So true Stephanie, sometimes I find myself helplessly lost... Always Linda
