Wherewithal Protocol
He had announced, “My dad’s ill, expected to die.”
In my pastor’s jacket, I slipped some wherewithal.
Watching him don his coat from a pew nearby,
hands in his pockets, he found unforeseen windfall.
Staring at its contents, three times he wiped his eye.
It was thanks enough - pay it forward protocol.
