Where You Would Rather Be

You wipe away countless tears
and watch as so called friends disappear
holding tighter to the ones who really care
but in adulthood little time can be spared
So you face life with strangers
when you'd rather stay with the familiar
you tread in unknown territory because its
vital to your growth
all the while as life moves on and things change
you can't help but feel sad about where you
would rather be. If it weren't for the need of money
and if a degree wasn't needed to succeed.
Where would you truly rather be?
Would you still stay so busy and work your life away
or would you wake up late and go to the cinema all day
What would you do if life didn't make you afraid?
These are questions I wonder every single day
