Is the commemoration we're witnessing today, only eyewash? Do we even care any more?

Doesn't appear so, from how we act and how we treat each other.

Where Would We Be By Franklin Price 6/6/2019 Where would we be, without this day, In nineteen-forty-four? Our “Greatest Generation” , Went to open Europe's door. Three score and fifteen years ago, Left their blood on Normandy, Many fell, did not return, For this freedom that we see In those days, was all for one Today that's not the way What can this country do for me?, Is what too many people say Did they do it all for nothing? I ask you, was it all for naught? They laid their lives, upon the line, For this freedom, their blood bought Won't be long before they're gone Time always works that way Don't let them leave in disappointment For what they did there on that day Wake up America, clear your heads, Remember what they did back then. If we don't now work together We'll have to do it all again.
