Where there is water

where there is life
 I will find you

where there is ground
life will grow

where shallows stand
clouds and sun reflect

a ripple in the water
is recoverable

so are the gray tones,
the hiccups,
the wrong colors
that bleed gently
into my affection
for my constant you

Stand strong Red Oak!

This zephyr will die too
and rocks will change, as will I

Don’t breathe a breath
unless you know
the air is worth it

to enter the chambers
of your treasured body
is to take a walk
through Heaven
