Where the Truth Lies

What is the truth? And where does it reside? Even though it can be elusive, It is usually right in front of you. Some can see it, Some ignore it, Some don't believe it; But it still remains. With open eyes, it reveals itself. With open heart, it cleanses. Sometimes, it can be painful; But that pain can inspire growth. Those that turn away from it, May find themselves lost in a labyrinth of lies. Lies that will twist the truth, And make it seem plausible. Lies that were meant to enslave, And bind those to the agenda of others. Now hidden, is the key to unshackle oneself, Placing all in self-made prisons. The saddest yet, are the non-believers. Convinced the truth is the lie, And the lie is the truth. Just a mirror image of fact. Born of ignorance, prejudice, and fear; It forever blinds and cripples. Spawning hatred of others, With unforgiving hearts; and closed minds. How were they set on this path, And who is capable of setting them free? None were born with this affliction, But many will die the same death. For those who have sought the truth, If only by example; and with patience, Must help educate those lost children. For true knowledge will free the masses from all that lies.
