Where the stardust fell

I saw it
I saw the place the moon kept secret

It was uncovered tonight
And as I looked up to the
Pastel clouds, pink and blue
I saw stardust
Fall from the sky

I watched to see where it went
And as it was about to hit the surface of the
Seemingly glowing lake
It disappeared

I went over
And looked into the lake

And there-
I saw another galaxy
In the slowly rippling water

There were constellations of its own
And clouds of blue, violet stardust
Rippling
Like the water

And I think I saw
A shooting star

I wished on it
For this to be real

But yet
Something felt off
The constellations looked
Familiar, somehow
So I looked up
Looked down

And realized I was merely
Looking at the reflection
Of the cosmos above

Then I wondered
Where did the stardust
Really go?
