Where the River Meets the Sea

What would I give to get a glimpse of your smile to have and to hold your heart for a while I want to meet you where the river meets the sea Leave your oars behind Set the barrier down and sail away with me We'd sail away together to wherever the wind blows to our soul's velveteen garden where blushed crimson bleeds its rose We'd sail away forever to a secluded land I curl within your arms and hold on to your hand We'd lay down on autumn's blanket watching sea-gulls soaring high Open wings upon blue waters in a mandarin sunset sky What would I give to feel the touch of your fingertips brushing sand between my toes to taste your honey-dew breath as the moonlit cradle glows But,here I walk upon the sidewalk each footprint leading home under an antique street light standing on my own And here I am singing a love song My shadow dancing free And there you stroll along the river -bank so far away from me.

This is a beautiful poem, Charmaine. Whether this be a dream of one you may meet in the future or one that you love that is far away. For me it works either way and it is so beautiful. Every line is a stroke on the canvas that now holds this wonderful picture. Very well done.... Robert.

There is a cruel beauty in this poem, this truth. I know this desire very well, its dare and sorrow. I deeply feel the lovely and natural companionship you dreamed in this fine poem Charma. Fun love, sad distance. I love cuddling, damn I do. A brilliant psychological turn is "Your s hadow dsncing free..." J.A.B

A 7 rating for another excellent romantic poem, Charm. Immensely enjoyed...and the ending is superb. My favourite phrase: "blushed crimson bleeds its rose". // paul

wow, this had so many great lines in it. I really love how you ended it with that sad part about the loved one being far away. MY favorite image was this one:where blushed crimson bleeds its rose. Outstanding, sweetie.
