WHERE IS THE LOVE MAMMA

For Silent One's - Mamma Poetry Contest

Where is the love, Mamma?

Through broken Louvre blinds, you're ever watching
Rosary beads clicking prayers on repeat mode, uttering
Your plethora of Faith keeps me steadily striving
Though, frustrated when peace will be arriving.

Under cover of the midnight moon, hookers seducing
Shady men with illicit wares aggressively peddling
Of changing our situation, I'm forever idealizing.
Enduring every day's trauma, just surviving.
Seeking direction from above, when is enough enough?

Tell me, Mamma ~ Where is the love?
Collective immorality still existing. A ticking clock morality meekly resisting Corruption, greed, and deceit still abounding This life where goodness seems to be drowning. A depraved degradation of insanity still insisting, Death, broken hearts, crime persisting In the chaos, qualms never ceasing. lawlessness above the muck and mire rising At the kerbside, a holy man piously preaching Should I turn my cheek, still beseeching Amidst their plundering and their leeching? NO !! Enough is Enough ~ Where is the Love? Beyond-repair abhorrence, I'm escaping.
Fervently, I'm hoping and praying.
Please God, Mamma, be safe while I'm gone I'll be back for you before long In the eerie darkness, emotions imploding Sirens blaring, with the sound of guns exploding My shallow breath quickening, turning back with throat thickening All the while, I'm screaming Where is the love? Back through this hellhole, I'm rapidly racing All through the panic, still hoping and praying Please God, Mamma ~ Be Safe, Be Safe, Be Safe Neon blue-red lights flickering and flashing. Through my open front door, I'm madly dashing. Looming through the haze, I hear them saying. 'Sorry, Miss, yet another random shooting Your Mamma just got caught in the cross-firing.' The last thing I hear is my own voice crying. MAMMA ~ THERE IS NO LOVE! THERE IS NO LOVE!

Heartfelt piece Maria you have brought so much affection for a mother and the struggles of this world contribute to a great loss. You take the reader through a chaotic state which you wish does not end bad. Excellent work by you. Hugs...

It is Mother's Day here in the UK, so I thought it would be nice to feature mum related poems.. I like the rap feel to your song and it flowed just like the song you have included here... a different, but interesting take on the contest theme and many will agree with what you wrote.. Congratulations on your placement in the contest..

When there's something wrong, When chaos invades our world, and we start getting lost without our compass.. we go back to our roots, we resort to our rock, we seek reassurance, peace and serenity in the presence and light of our mother's, the epitome of all Beauty, strength, endurance.. to feel safe, loved, protected and mainly find answers wise enough relieving enough to restore Hope and Faith in a better world and recovered humanity! Your take on the different facets we need in our mothers is amazing! Your dexterity is second to none dearest friend Maria! What a treat to always read your wonderful poetry! Stay always blessed and happy. Love and hugs.

Our Mothers, the epitome of beauty, strength and endurance, yes, you are so right, my dearest Besma. How often we take for granted someone who is always there for us.We tend to overlook the ones thrown into circumstances beyond their control who miss out on their Mothers love. In light of the inherent uncertainty, we embrace the philosophy of seizing the time we spend with our Mothers and letting them know how important they are to us. Thanks, my sweet friend, for the profound and sincere compliments you bring with you. I am forever appreciative of your friendship. Love and Hugs xx

For some this life is a sad, sad journey. The world you describe, aches for mother's love--somehow the cries go unheard. Tragic circumstances, as you so well describe, my friend--no one should have to endure. Your message resonates, Maria.

So very true, dear friend Vijay. Still there are a lot of inspirational stories about people who have come out of worse situations and still made something of their lives. One lives in Faith and Hope. Thanks so much for dropping by and wonderful comments as always...Hugs

Such a brilliant song by the Black Eyed Peas (how young does WillIAm look? well it was 2003 I guess). This was the first song I did a video presentation to and spent many many hours burning the candle at both ends.. if I can find it I might post it here. Inspired by yours, Maria. Blessings, Sx

This is a world of contrasts, where good and evil must live in close proximity. Personally, I think mothers do exhibit love for their children, but alas not all. Claudio Villa issued an Italian song in the sixties. It is a heart-wrenching song worth knowing. continued.......

This is a world of contrasts, where good and evil must live in close proximity. How very true, as they say 'how will we know light if we don't know darkness'? Thanks for the lovely visit and comment my dear friend....Love and Hugs

Thanks Richad, I'm not sure the judge will see it as a suitable entry for his competition, but it is what it is. So many are robbed of their Mothers love, due to crime. A sad situation. Thanks for the visit , greatly appreciated ...Hugs

Dear Maria, Wow, this is a powerful and poignant reflection on the harsh realities of life, filled with longing for love and safety amidst chaos and despair. Your images and emotive language capture the desperation and anguish of the narrator as they navigate through a world plagued by immorality, violence, and loss. The repeated question, "Where is the love?" echoes the universal desire for compassion and hope in adversity. Your poem is a deeply moving tribute to a daughter's resilience and unwavering love for her mother, even in the darkest of times. - Blessings, Daniel

Dear Daniel, Thank you for your visit and your in-depth psychological analysis of my poem. I’m deeply appreciative of your comment. There is another timeless video I posted some time ago called ‘The Time Traveller’, that is timeless, and you may like it as it deals with Love and Loss with celestial undertones and a twist at the end.– Hugs Maria
