Notes About The Poem

A fellow souper has gone silent and my heart is sad – This poem is for her and for all who join our community and who receive wounds instead of love, condemnation instead of help and support, rebuke and criticism instead of encouragement.  We are a community who care about words – may we always remember there is a person behind the words that may be hurting – in need of a word hug!

Love Generously,

David

Where Have You Gone

You have read her words . . .

              Laughed at her lyrics

Listen to the sweet melody of her words

      But now . . .

          Now

              SILENCE

No words to fill our imagination

              Where have you gone ? ? ?

                       Come back . . .

                                                  wind-tears smote the ground

                                      grief hangs from trees

                            she is hurt

            heart-wounded

Hello David Meade, I would like to know who the souper is you are referring to? Because i do not who you refer to. Thank you. My comments never hurt anyone. I am not like that. Have a nice day my friend.

DAvid it's so good to see you back again with this beautiful poem. I am very curious now to know who "she" is. She sounds wonderful. Hope not someone that got hurt by Soup

As someone who has experienced harassment here and has left for a while.. I can tell you, these poems mean A LOT and I know that whomever this is for, it will touch her heart in a very significant way. Solid, faithful friends like you are hard to find... she is lucky to have you on her side. I hope she has come back now... but I'm wondering... why have you not posted? I really appreciated you reading my poem today. Thank you for that. Hugs x

Sad that this is repeating itself on the soup. We should always encourage and not wound hearts. I hope she comes back. Nicely said. love phyl

The format, the message, the words goes well to render a powerful piece... I echo same as I felt this to three of my friends here in Soup.. ~Olive Eloisa =`)3jx

There are times in peoples lives that they get taken away by life and there are no words. For this person I do hope she will see your passionate words!

Thanks Meg, I think it will take more than my words to bring her back. Fear and intimidation -- very much like you wrote about in your last poem keeps her away. Be well my friend and don't let your heart be troubled.

Yes this is a sad reality that has repeated itself many times. This is a kind reminder to treasure our friends.

Thanks Richard, yes we need to always treasure our friends! Also, to respect others -- here is where I believe our human nature raises its ugly head and strikes out at others for a host of reasons in which most of them are petty. You have a great heart my friend. Be strong.

You have a kind heart, David. I hope you never lose that ability to empathize with others. Whoever she is....she is lucky to have such a friend in you, dear. Blessings from LO.

Dear LO, you are dear friend who I deeply treasure! I know you have a fierce heart (A Princess Warrior) to help and defend others who are wounded and suffering. One of many qualities I love about you. She is being bullied by others . . . I hope she has the strength to keep writing. Hugs PW!

I can well understand these words which you have penned today, David. It grieves me knowing that some travel companions are forced to drop out because of hurt, etc. PoetrySoup is supposed to be a place of friendship and encouragement! ~ All the best, my friend. // paul

Dear Paul, thank-you for your words -- I know you have seen how words can wound and hurt others . . . as we get pulled into the world of PS it's sometimes easy to forget that friendship and encouragement is the foundation that makes this a special place. Fear and intimidation are the cracks that can bring this world crashing down. Thank-you for always be positive and supportive!

Thank-you Ms. Chircop -- well said "a community of where many care." I do believe this wholeheartedly! That is the message I want our friend to hear -- there will always be people who will hurt others but the greater community will extend love, a generous love.
