I've seen other birds of prey do this, but I didn't know bald eagles did it as well! Very nice poem illustrating this lovely dance... MC

Mating dance that causes the waves to stop, rather than crash, is quite a powerfully breathless moment. I like this quite a lot.

About your comment on Haiku 28. Yes, you're typically not expected to title them, personally I think it kinda gets rid of the "surprise" in the haiku itself, because a lot is revealed in the title already. If you really want to title them, I believe titling them by the first line is a good way to do it. That way you're not spoiling anything. If you're writing haiku that DOESN'T follow 5-7-5 I wouldn't trash it... in my opinion haiku should be about images and content (not syllables).

I've seen this too, on a cold day over Oklahoma's Quartz Mountain. I watched this beautiful dance for a very long time, and tired well before the eagles did. Good work... Jack

I've never heard of this mating ritual... thanks for the education, a bonus for the haiku... haha. I liked this one. Line three was interesting because I was looking at it through the eagles point of view. I'm not sure if that was your intention, but that's the way I looked at it.

Great read... I've seen movies of this phenomena. I also here they have a method of flight training... They are said to take the eaglets aloft hundreds of feet and drop them. Thank God mama eagle knows when the young are ready.... Love ya lots.... Jake
