When deprived of light, where do shadows go, if they cannot be seen, how can I know? And if they can totally disappear, does it mean there is nothing there to fear? There are so many things I cannot see, that arbitrarily influence me. And as preposterous as it may sound, their impact on me is often profound. What do jealousy and envy look like, those invisible serpents poised to strike? And what of shame and unrequited love, don't they fit together tight as a glove? How can intangible feelings hurt so, causing me such consternation and woe?

This is wonderfully constructed, Emile. So many questions rise from our minds, and so many are left unanswered.
