Where Do I Belong

too long i have longed

for the feeling of belonging

each day i struggle

to merely get up in the morning

boiling the kettle

buttering the bread

oh how i wish

i was somewhere else instead

one day i may give up

trying to please everyone else

but for now, here i sit

ashamed of myself

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.

Wow! What a powerful statement about the human condition and our battles with the internal and external perceptions of ourselves. The sparse choice of words is significant to the strength of your reflections.
