Where Did You Go

I searched all over this world for you Where did you go I trudged through the deepest snow Where rivers don't flow Where grass doesn't grow. I sent your name on the wind as it blows All I got was a hollow echo Filled with memories long ago. I climbed all seven steps of the rainbow Pushed past all the lost souls -- The result all too painful. And so I know -- You are not in this world, no. But this world's boundaries I cannot breach This is all I can reach. I can't go that far Across to where you are Where sunlight dies, where stars don't shine The only thing I can do Is to feel your heart in mine. So let the pain remain Because every throb it brings Is to feel you again.
