Where Bumbles Bounce
WHERE BUMBLES BOUNCE
Daisies, Zinnias, Lilacs in kaleidoscope of floral display
on pink, purple. blue, yellow glow, nodding faces in gay,
alluring, enticing Butterfly, Wasp, Vermin, Hornet
and Drone prone to pollinate carrying pollen.
Flying insects except Drone choose to select blooms showing adulation.
They sit to crawl or suck and sprawl:
Quenching thirst will fly away.
Fuzzy Drone large in girth with short strong wings
buzzing, groaning in cadence of mirth.
Adamant, obstinate Drone in aggression to reach
Princess Rose guarded by sentry-like prickly thorns.
Butterfly, Wasp to warn Drone,
Vermin, Hornet to alert Drone
not to disturb princess Rose,
not to approach too close.
Princess Rose swinging in elegant charm.
Bubbling Drone decisive and firm.
He may get hurt; it may be fatal
Yet he can’t ignore soft shiny silky petal
of sacred scarlet Rose spreading fresh fragrance.
He yearned to fling and to sting
to kiss to bosom of blossom,
to sip nascent nectar
to dip nose deep to smell sweet scent.
May be basic instinct or dormant dream, yet distinct.
But bound to bounce and to sink
in pristine charisma and romantic aroma.
