Wher Do We Live

Where Do We Live?

We live in the past:
Peaks and valleys,
pain and suffering,
joy and grief
hurt and pleasure.

We live in the future:
Plans and fears,
employment and retirement,
marriage and children,
health and wealth.

We rarely live in the present.
We are either living in the past
or in the future or both.
We are a sum of both.

When do we stop to:
smell a flower,
read a book,
watch a sunrise,
walk on the beach,
meet a friend,
go to church.

We can’t add an hour
to our lives, nor
an inch to our height, by
remembering the past or
planning for the future.

We can live in the present
if we let go of the past
and worry less of our
future.
