When You Cried

When you cried I laughed.
A strange nervous giggle.
The moment I heard it's sharpness,
I wanted to get away. To leave.
Sadness with no hope,
I couldn't do that...not then.
We were wrong to try and pull you up.
We tried to tell you it would be ok.
Sinking feelings told us otherwise.
