When You Compete With No One
Follow your heart, to thyself be true
do not fear the coming of the day
when you compete with no one, no one can compete with you
See the gray as gray, the blue as blue
your eyes are your greatest gift, don’t let them slip away
follow your heart, to thyself be true
Men will argue, women will croon
but in your mind the decision will be made
when you compete with no one, no one can compete with you
Ghosts from without and from within will try to spook you
but you need never feel afraid
follow your heart, to thyself be true
Strangers try to hold you down and keep you to the rules
but it does not matter what they have to say!
When you compete with no one, no one compete with you
You are the maestro, call the tune
and your symphony you shall hear the whole world play
follow your heart, to thyself be true
when you compete with no one, no one can compete with you.
