When Will Clouds Part, the Sun Again Shine Bright

Long after the storms of the violent night
They wait in the dark, braced for the bad news
When will clouds part, the sun again shine bright?

First the shock arrives with coming daylight
How much will they save, how much will they lose
Long after the storms of the violent night.

A cold rainy day floods down on the blight
Some lost their lives, others with just a bruise
When will clouds part, the sun again shine bright?

Those who survived hold each other so tight
Knowing there’s not much that they can reuse
Long after the storms of the violent night.

It may take some time to make things just right
Through the days ahead they will often muse
When will clouds part, the sun again shine bright?

With hope and strength they face their plight
With the love and help their neighbors infuse
Long after the storms of the violent night
When will clouds part, the sun again shine bright?
