When the Wanderer Returns

As winter trees exhume their leaves
for spring
and Autumns' sacrifice
retreats in memory
Summers of sangria blossoms
drape their crimson blooms-

exhale against an arc of sighing skies

Seasons conspire
to tempt the wanderer on,
but it’s the stolen thoughts of childhood
that bring the wanderer home.

Your first stanza in a very compact little bite of every season. Packs a punch. I especially like the "autumn's sacrifice" bit ... I've never thought of fall in that sense but it makes sense. It's just like the line from the Lord of The Rings... "Not all those who wander are lost." Lovely piece, my friend. Keep it up!
