When the Sun Set

There you're alone
Gazing blue waters
In emerald splendor
Embedded within
A romantic landscape.

Visions of sundown
Peeking through blossoms
Bow down to greet you
And caress in love
Hints of my message.

You look elsewhere
At script on horizon
Setting sun engraves
Upon twilight tender
In vermillion intents,
As it dips beneath
Dreams of hushed river;

And scatters its rays
In marigold spray
On magenta fabric
Embroidered purple.

Too late my love
To turn and face me--

I’m no longer there,

When the sun set
So did your shadow.

Your thoughts hold me, until the very end. Love is in every moment, the sweet embrace of the sun, the wind moving upon the beauty of the earth. I feel lost in emotion, with this thought "When the sun set, so did your shadow" Sounds like it is over. Those moments shared. You always know how to touch my heart with your words. This is beautiful and tender, all at the same time. ~ Brandy

This one had me feeling so high and then so low. I've had to think about it... I'm thinking you would not want to be (in) love's shadow, because then you would be blinded from the sun yourself. Two in love should share its warmth side by side, and revel in the beauty of its setting, and the emerging moon and stars. Therefore, this must be about one's own shadow? Please say yes or my heart will break.

First let me say.. how much I appreciate you rooting for love. And I fully agree two in love should be enjoying the warmth of their surroundings. I don't want to break your heart so I won't say any more about the ending of this theme. Always a joy my friend to read your comments ..looking forward to reading your poetry soon. Many thanks, HT.

Not alone, when we are in the presence of a bowing sun and his majesty, love!.. the shades of stunning colours.. the magic of unfathomable feelings.. the enchantment of a sweet dream.. It's dark when the charm is over, and no trace of his majesty! Wow, what an impressive image! What a powerful rendition! You amaze with your artistry, dear Vijay! So delighted by your great work! A poetry honoured to fave.. My deepest regards and blessings to you.
