When the Sun Has Set

When the sun has set at last,
Remember that I loved you so,
How I kissed your tears away
And took your side when asked to stay.

When the sun has set at last,
Remember that I was your friend,
Someone deeply you could trust
Who wished the best for both of us.

When the sun has set at last
Remember all the joys we shared,
How you were the apple of my eye,
The abundance of love for you and I.

When the sun as set at last,
Do not shed a tear, my dear.
You will find your true love soon.
Until that time, enjoy the moon.
