When the Presidency Was a Travesty

Our country's history Soured by a presidency For thee I mourn. Land where so many died Because of foolish pride Trump's faults I must deride With words of scorn. Stripped of our liberty Mocked as a travesty, For thee I weep. Tears fell across the land Four years in his command, Democracy was banned. Mayhem ran deep. Covid germs filled the air "Drink bleach," he did declare. Then sent a throng. Treason... insurgency With frantic urgency. Hostile convergency. His crime was wrong. Our country, strong once more High will your banner soar From sea to sea. Your wounds will then be healed. When Trump's deeds are revealed Songs across plains and field We'll sing with glee.

Amen and Amen! I sing right along with you, Jenna. It's hard to believe that such a crime-ridden conman as Trump could've ever become president of the United States of America. I simply cannot understand how any patriotic American could support this POS.

I just can't figure out why people who support him are so blind to his schemes and lies. Nor can I figure out why I keep writing about it, except that sometimes I'll see a headline about it online and it frustrates me until I put my feelings into words. In small print, our newspaper this morning reported the Chinese Yuan has fallen to its lowest level since 2007 "against the surging dollar", yet American media ignore Biden's success in cleaning up the mess made by Trump, to report no one wants to be associated with Biden, and "polls show increasing support for Trump!" Enjoyed your poem and I hope readers will think about it! Aloha!

Thank you for enjoying what came to mind this morning. I fail to see how he can still have so many supporters after everything that's thus far been exposed about his dubious deeds. I've stopped reading the news about all politicians, and I'm sick and tired of seeing his arrogant face online. Trump really did leave a mess for Biden to clean up, and it's been a hard task when so many Republicans throw up roadblocks. Thanks for your agreeable remarks, Rico.
