When the night ends

Take the sound of breathing and
wrap it in the wood stove smoke

Watch each cloud of condensation
and fir dissipate, attentive

The birds tried to nest again
with just enough success to send
a fledgling down the flue

The first winter fire burns
extra hot until the choke is set
simmers so the night can end

When all the weather goes away
what is left

A puddle on the balcony
A feather for a fool

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.
